- Press release
Products
Arkema will participate in Hong Kong Optical Fair 2012 to be held at Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Centre from November 7th to 9th. Arkema will promote its different transparent polyamide grades known under Rilsan® Clear brand, in particular the Rilsan® Clear G830 Rnew grade, its innovative bio-based transparent polyamide.

Rilsan® Clear products deliver a broad spectrum of performance properties and benefits for eyeglass frames:
- Excellent flexibility, which provides freedom of design,
- Outstanding optical properties and transparency,
- Good chemical resistance
- Good UV resistance,
- Good fatigue resistance,
- Light in weight,

Among the Rilsan® Clear range, Rilsan® Clear G830 Rnew is a high performance transparent polyamide partially based on renewable resources. This grade, specially designed for injection molding applications, is ideally suited for high-end eyeglass frames. It is made of 54% renewable raw material, thus helping reduce CO2 emissions.

In addition to these end-users benefits, Rilsan® Clear G830 Rnew features outstanding processing properties which afford major economic gains for manufacturers of eyeglass frames. Rilsan® Clear G830 Rnew already brings key differentiation to several eyeglass frames models in the Smith Optics® Evolve and in the Quiksilver® Green Line collections

Rilsan® Clear G830 Rnew is the latest innovation from Arkema’s bio based high performance Polyamides. Rilsan® PA11, Hiprolon®, Pebax® Rnew and Platamid® Rnew have already amply demonstrated Arkema’s  ability to propose innovative bio-based solutions for highly demanding markets.
